Engaging in acts of penance can be a way to demonstrate genuine remorse and commitment to change, but it should be done with the intention of personal growth and not as a form of self-punishment. Ultimately, it is important to strive for a balance between acknowledging one's sins and moving forward with a sense of hope and renewal. **

However, it is important to seek guidance from a religious leader or spiritual advisor to determine the appropriate penance for your specific situation. They can provide you with the necessary guidance and support to help you atone for your sin in a meaningful and spiritually fulfilling way. **
